Belgian Wave

In UFOlogy, the term "wave" means a bunch of sightings over a short period. So, the Belgian wave is a lot of sightings of a triangle shaped UFO over Belgium!

This has got to be the worst intro I've ever done...

Aaanyway, the sightings took place between 1982 and 1983. Over 150 people saw the same triangle shaped craft hovering over their towns and cities. Many people claim this event was a set up by the Belgian government to keep them on the map, but I think otherwise.

It all started in may of 1982 when two Belgian police officers noticed what they thought was an airplane. After chasing it for a few miles, it finally came to a stop. In the air. Where everyone could see it. The police men quickly made a report, and soon enough, hundreds of local Belgians began calling police stations and reporting what they saw.

The strange thing about the sightings was that all the UFOs had 3 shared features.

A triangle shaped body,
Three white lights on each end,
And a bright red light in the middle.

Do you think this was aliens being curious, or planning an invasion? You decide.

Disappearing People

These stories originate from the 1840s western and southern U.S. Basically, someone would do something seemingly normal, and it would cause them to vanish without a trace.

As you can see, I basically skipped the intro here and am already entering the world of weird. These events actually happened though! There are historical records of them happening! So, why? Why do people randomly vanish in this part of the U.S? Well, that is the unsettling part, no one knows.

You see, when someone disappears, usually, the police jump on it and ultimately find the person alive or dead. These cases never saw full disclosure. The most famous example is this story. It isn't 100% accurate, but it is based on the supposedly real events.

The Story of the Disappearing Man

It was 1842 in a small town just outside of Kansas City, Kansas. A couple of good friends, a farmer and rich man, went to a local bar to get a few drinks. After getting totally drunk, they made a bet with each other. Whoever could run from their town to Kansas City would give the other $100.

The farmer was extremely confident that his friend wouldn't be able to do it due to his weight. Little did he know, he never said anything about assistance. His rich friend brought his other rich friend to supply him with water and food while he ran. During the run, he got the usual water refills every quarter mile or so and food every mile. The rich man knew he would win the bet. All the farmer could do was watch his $100 go down the drain.

About 5 miles in, the most peculiar thing happened. The rich man tripped on what seemed to be an innocent rock and went face first into the ground. But, when he hit the ground he let out an inhuman scream and vanished from sight.

No one knows where the rich man went, but they never found him again.

Over 100 unexplained disappearances occurred in this part of the U.S between 1842 and 1845. Many of them were of farmers going into their corn fields and never returning home, others involve men and women just vanishing on public streets late at night. Many were chalked up to god bringing them to heaven, but today we believe otherwise.

The field of Quantum physics say that this could technically happen given the right circumstances. Did these innocent people fall victim to quantum events, or was there something more sinister happening here? Let me know in the comments what you think!

Hoia Baciu Forest

This Romanian forest is known best for it's strange happenings and disappearances rather then good looks or wildlife. Many speculate something horrific happened around 1600 to cause all the strange occurrences, but no one is quite sure. One thing is for certain, this place is terrifying.

Romania is a beautiful country with its amazingly colorful deciduous forests and stunning medieval architecture, but Romania is also a hot spot for paranormal enthusiasts around the world. Due to Romania's rich history (and Vlad the Impaler) it is hard to ignore the local history. But, there is one place people refuse to go to.

That would be Hoia Baicu Forest. Located near Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second most populous city, this forest looks perfectly normal until you start asking locals about it. Many people that have ventured in have simply disappeared. This, along with all the other unexplained phenomenon, makes this forest the most haunted on planet earth.

The claims that hundreds of people have while in the forest range from weird to harmful. The most well known cases are those of lights floating about and those of a screaming woman.

The lights floating around are of an orange or red hue and are seen more often then most phenomenon in the Hoia Baicu forest, but many say they are UFOs or spirits floating around looking for humans. None of these theories can be proven due to the inability to track any of these objects, but many pictures have been taken of them while exploring the forest.

The screaming lady is the most well known due to the feeling of terror it generates while in auditory range. Many people who hear her run immediately without question. But, for those brave enough, motion sensing cameras have been used to catch her in action. Many of these experiments end with disturbing results, including the camera being broken beyond repair, to the film being damaged to the point of not being able to make out what is in the film.

The strangest occurrence of them all though? The 400ft diameter clearing in the middle of the forest. Nothing grows here. Not even grass. Most animals refuse to enter this part of the forest and for good reason. This is the most haunted area. With reports of people getting harmed inside the circle, many advise staying away.

No one truly knows what happens in the Hoia Baciu forest, but many still stay away in fear that they will be next to vanish in the world's most haunted forest.

Update for the Blog

Okay, so Ive been to a few other blogs, and it seems their posts are in a bit more detail and are a bit longer. So, I will try my best to make longer posts and add a bit more detail and research. Not only will this make it more fun for me, but it will hopefully add more content for you guys.

Also, I'm looking for Writers and Researchers for my blog! Not only will we collaborate, but we will also do individual projects and hopefully make this blog fun!

Russian Spider Climbers

OK, so I haven't posted anything in a while, and the reason why is because a lot of stuff is happening in my personal life. Back to the post!

Russia is a hot-spot for truly unexplainable paranormal phenomenon. Technically, paranormal means anything that can't be explained by science or technology. This video here is of a large unidentified creature climbing a Russian hotel complex.

When I first saw this video, it was pretty damn convincing. considering it was from 2007-2010, the video quality isn't perfect. But, the person who filmed it claims it is extremely real and has been seen in multiple urban areas of Russia.

Unfortunately, this was one of those cases where the truth would come out with time. With the invention of analogue to HD processing, video-sweepers and debunkers internet-wide proved that the original video above was only CGI.

Remember to comment and make suggestions for me! I love strange and creepy things from the internet, so lay it on me!

Siberian Death Lights

This Phenomenon has a special place in Russian history because of its random appearances and long history with native Russians.

When they were first recorded by Siberian explorers in the late 1500s, it was blown off as superstition and as a hoax. it wasn't until around 1870 that they were taken seriously. Many of the Russian natives living in the area of the Ural Mountains say they need to go inside when the lights are seen or risk death.

The only recorded case of these lights actually being the likely cause of death happened in the 1960s.

This became known as the Dyatlov Pass Incident.

The 9 hikers died of hypothermia after cutting their tents open, seemingly in a rush to get away from something. Locals said they saw the death lights around the time the hikers died. Another strange anomaly that was recorded by the Russian government was high levels of radiation around the campsite.

Was this a UFO case, a horrific accident, or simple mass hysteria? We may never know.

karlmayer

Once again, I have found another cursed video in the deep and dark depths of the video giant, YouTube. This time though, some of it may actually work as intended.

This video is called karlmayer, and can be found here.

This video got my attention for its strange subliminal messaging and its back story.

Basically, karlmayer was an experiment done by the original poster to see if people would believe in a curse if some of the effects were guaranteed to happen. This video is apparently supposed to make you commit suicide after a while. Even though none have been linked to this video, EVER, the other effects are what make the curse seem real.

The other effects are the feeling of fear and paranoia. This naturally occurs because your brain can't really determine what is happening in the video. You feel safe physically, but your mind says otherwise.

This is known as 'Cognitive Dissonance' or the creepy feeling. I'll get into that at a later date, but let's focus on the video.

The creepy feeling will make you feel paranoia and fear naturally. When the human brain can't find a proper emotion to display, it will automatically default to fear, since it is the easiest to display. Videos like karlmayer are all over YouTube, but this is definitely going to remain in my head for a while.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to jump off a bridge.

Bye!

Phoenix Lights

The Phoenix Lights are a famous phenomenon that occured between 1997 and 1999. Most Ufologists consider it to be America's most famous UFO case.

This whole event started on Thursday, March 13th, 1997. In Henderson, Nevada, a man spotted a football field sized V-Shaped craft moving along the desert at around 5 P.M. After this, a multitude of sightings of a similar craft was reported heading through the Sonora Desert, and into Phoenix.

The rest is UFO history.

The original video of the alleged UFO can be seen here.

Many witnesses after this, including the Governor of Arizona at the time, say they witnessed the events unfold right in front of their eyes.

The U.S Government said it was a series of flares dropped over phoenix to run an experiment. I know this isn't true. Not only is this not allowed, but jets aren't allowed to fly over cities at night to prevent any further noise pollution. Also, people would have heard an aircraft flying overhead if it was flares. No noises were heard before the lights were seen. It isn't uncommon for the U.S government to provide some sort of explanation as a cover up for mass sightings, so I'm not surprised this happened immediately after it went nation-wide on news stations.

Events like the Phoenix Lights are known today as 'UFO Flaps', or Mass Sightings. These occur when hundreds of people see the same craft over a relatively short period of time. Many have occured, but the most famous is the Phoenix Lights because of how quickly it went down.

Remember, just because it isn't accepted by science doesn't mean it didn't happen. Well documented UFO cases prove that we are definitely not alone.

Suicide Forest

Japan is a country full of culture and history. Along with that culture and history comes terrifying tales passed down for generations for years to come.

This local legend recently went worldwide after the TV show Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files did an investigation a few years ago. Today, what is known as the 'Suicide Forest' is one of Japan's top paranormal destinations.

From accounts I've read online, and some mildly gruesome pictures I've found, the forest attracts mostly young Japanese men. This makes sense because of how Japanese familial society is like for most men. Basically, if you aren't perfect in your father's eyes, you are worthless. It also attracts groups of men. By the next morning, all the men are dead either through taking lethal drugs or through slitting of throats or wrists.

This isn't what makes the suicide forest so strange though. Its what happens to tourists hiking through to get to Mt. Fugi. Usually, the events take place like this.

1: Tourists get lost and set up camp after wandering for 3 hours or so.
2: Tourists get frightened by a noise or loud bang just outside their tent (Did I mention this place is also haunted?)
3: Tourists run for their lives or kill themselves on the spot.
4: The tourists that run either kill themselves, or are killed by "unseen forces".
5: Everyone is dead by morning.

Usually, I'd say this is a hoax or is explained by just being a legend, but when there is physical evidence and it occurs on a regular basis, I cant deny the truth. This place is terrifying.

WPKEPKW

This will be the first of many stories regarding strange and unusual things I find while I explore the Internet.

One of the things I like looking at are creepy videos on YouTube. Since YouTube is the biggest video sharing domain on the Internet, I usually find some cool stuff. This time though, I was very intrigued.

It was a 38 second video called wpkepkw. The link is here.

Obviously, this video is creepy, so I did some research and found the strangest back story I have ever heard for a YouTube video. According to the original poster, the video is cursed. no one knows how, but there are a few theories as to why. Before I get there though, let me tell you what this video apparently does to your computer.

The video is supposed to mess with your computer by playing the video irregardless of how much you try to block it. This is the supposed "curse" of wpkepkw.

The first one is that it was a video of a person moments before their death. According to this theory, the person shown in the video was killed moments after the filming was done. After his death, he haunts the video, making strange electrical anomalies occur after watching. This theory also states that the video will show your time of death during these anomalies. This is the original theory of the video posted by the user, so it would be the most credible.

The second theory is that the video was a government experiment gone wrong. This theory states that the video was altered by a rogue A.I from the Deep Web. The person in the video is simply trying to warn the Internet of the dangers associated with the A.I, and to take caution. This would explain why the video is so strange and unsettling to look at.

Unfortunately, neither of these theories are true. After doing some digging, the person who recorded the curse in action also posted the original. The original video of the curse in action is here.

The video is creepy, but it was the backstory and discovery that earned such a scary reputation.
